Shtiebel.org Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy covers the website of Shtiebel.org and affiliated websites including SingingTorah.org (collectively the “Site”) and their contents. The terms “Shtiebel.org,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the Site.
The Site
The Site is designed to help students learn elements of Jewish ritual practice, including prayers, torah, and haftorah portions. This necessarily includes helping students preparing for their bar or bat mitzvah, who are often under the age of thirteen when they begin their study. We attempt to collect as little information as possible in order to protect the privacy of our users.
What Data We Collect
The Site will collect the username and legal name of the student, address of the student or parent for billing purposes, and the e-mail addresses of the student and parents for communication.
The Site will also log what the student has selected to learn, any comments the student makes on the recordings for future viewing. If the students choose to record their own voice, the Site will store that for future use. The Site also retains the date of the student’s bar or bat mitzvah, the name of the student’s Cantor and shul, if any.
Requesting Deletion of Data
A parent or legal guardian may request deletion of student information at any time. Requesting deletion of all data will result in termination of the student’s service, and no refund will be issued.
Once payment for the service has been received, you may request deletion of the student’s legal name and address and retain service.
